THE BBC’S Radio Five Live dedicated an entire hour to a detailed discussion of post boxes on 28 November 2023.

Hosted by Colin Murray, two LBSG members contributed to the show. Arthur Reeder and Robert Cole spoke along side Chris Taft from the Postal Museum and Colin Sinclair, an enthusiast who was on holiday in Australia.

It was, in the words of Simon Vaughan Winter, our Newsletter editor; “a great hour of listening . . . The several roles that the LBSG performs came across clearly, as did the idea that seeing a pillar box on the street adds colour, romance and historical depth as we go about our lives.”

The piece also won approval from Andrew R Young, the LBSG chairman, who said: “It was very well produced. Colin Murray was very well prepared and asked all the right questions.”
